RAINPROJECTRaising Awareness Against Natural Disasters
An international initiative connecting Türkiye, Portugal & Italy — building resilient communities through education, volunteering, and solidarity.
Building Resilient
Communities Together
The RAIN Project (Raising Awareness Against Natural Disasters and Improving the Network of Volunteers in Local Publics) is an international Erasmus+ KA210-YOU project that supports youth workers, educators, youngsters, and public staff in gaining knowledge, skills, and awareness in disaster management, volunteering, and community resilience.
The project is implemented through the collaboration of institutions from Türkiye, Portugal, and Italy. It aims to build societies prepared against disasters, increase volunteering awareness, and strengthen solidarity networks at the local level.
RAIN offers a holistic approach that includes not only disaster response but also pre-disaster awareness, education, and volunteer participation processes.
The Mobilities
Three transnational learning activities bring partners together across Türkiye, Portugal and Italy to exchange good practices in disaster preparedness and volunteering.
Field visits to AFAD and Ankara University AFAM, earthquake simulation, debris management and psychosocial first-aid training.
Visits to IPMA, the Portuguese Red Cross, ISEL and municipal civil protection, focused on volunteering and community resilience.
Disability-inclusive disaster risk reduction, awareness seminars in local schools and dissemination of the project results.
